Dr. Weiss is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with adults, college students, adolescents, and children. For the past 20 years, Dr. Weiss has earned a reputation for providing empathetic, results-driven psychotherapy and careful, comprehensive neuropsychological and educational evaluations that reach correct diagnoses the first time.

Who Dr. Weiss Helps

Children and adolescents. Dr. Weiss helps young people overcome anxiety, depression, perfectionism, ADHD, autism, executive-functioning challenges, self-esteem issues, and overwhelming academic stress, so they can reach their full cognitive and emotional potential.

Adults and college students. Dr. Weiss provides individual therapy for adults and college students dealing with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, life transitions, relationship and career stress, self-esteem concerns, and many other challenges. She also offers comprehensive evaluations for adults and college students who want to understand ADHD, learning differences, or executive-functioning difficulties, whether they are seeking a diagnosis for the first time or looking for academic accommodations.

Families navigating high-conflict divorce. Dr. Weiss supports parents, children, and teens through the strain of high-conflict divorce. She helps each family member cope, communicate, and adjust during challenging transitions.

Dr. Weiss’s Approach

Dr. Weiss believes the best results come from collaboration. Depending on each client's needs, she works closely with clients, families, teachers, and other treating professionals to build a treatment plan suited to that individual. No two people are alike, and no two problems are the same.

Dr. Weiss also believes there are no shortcuts to an accurate diagnosis. Dr. Weiss spends several days with each evaluation client, and she always observes elementary school clients in the classroom. She takes the time to understand each person's learning style, social and emotional factors, and academic or professional challenges. That is why leading academic institutions in Los Angeles and elsewhere trust and rely on Dr. Weiss’s recommendations.

Dr. Weiss’s Education and Training

Dr. Weiss holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and a master's degree in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), as well as a master's degree in counseling psychology from Boston College. She earned her undergraduate degree cum laude, with distinction, from Boston University.

She is also a proud graduate of the Harvard-Westlake School. That background gives her first-hand understanding of the academic pressures many of her clients face, from private preparatory schools to competitive college programs. She has worked with hundreds of students in Los Angeles private and public schools.

Dr. Weiss’s clinical training spans every stage of life. She has:

  • treated children, teens, and adults during a pre-doctoral internship at an inpatient psychiatric hospital;

  • provided individual therapy and community outreach for college students at the Wheaton College Counseling Center in Massachusetts;

  • conducted psychoeducational testing at a college learning resource center;

  • provided therapy for children and families, including individual therapy in an elementary school;

  • led teen groups in high schools and a teen girls' group in private practice; and

  • run parenting groups for parents of teenagers.

During her postdoctoral training, Dr. Weiss gained extensive experience conducting neuropsychological evaluations of students with ADHD, autism, and other learning challenges, including "twice-exceptional" clients. Her doctoral dissertation on relational aggression in girls was selected for presentation at the American Psychological Association's annual convention, an honor given to only a few researchers.
